TERRAIN

Terms of Service

Effective 8 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-08

The short version

  • Terrain helps a pastor see the neighborhood around a church and plan ministry that fits it. The figures, findings and words it gives are a starting point: check them before you present, print or decide.
  • Your church’s work is yours. We use what reaches our servers only to run Terrain for you.
  • When you use Terrain to hear from your members or neighbors, you are responsible for using what they send only as they expect.
  • Terrain is free until paid plans begin. Then plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time under Account › Manage billing. The Refund Policy says when a payment is refunded.
  • Terrain is provided as it is, and our responsibility to you is limited (sections 16 and 17).
  • This summary is not the agreement. The full terms below are.

1. Who we are and this agreement

Terrain (terrain.church, and pastorshub.org, which leads there) is provided by Muraworks, a business based in Pennsylvania, United States (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and us.

You accept these Terms when you register, start a trial or a plan, enter a code, or use Terrain. If you do not agree, do not use Terrain. If you use Terrain for a church, conference or other organization, you accept these Terms for yourself, and you confirm that you may act for that organization where you act in its name.

Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy are part of these Terms.

2. Who may use Terrain

3. What Terrain does, and where its facts come from

Terrain reads the neighborhood around a church and helps a pastor plan ministry: the Community Survey, Spiritual Gifts, Make the Case, the Evangelism Planner, Learn from other conferences, Compare your churches and its Digital footprint.

Its facts come from other sources: Census figures are estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey and carry margins of error; the map and the places nearby come from OpenStreetMap; conference calendars come from published pages, checked monthly; Digital footprint comes from public pages. We work to keep them right, but we do not promise that they are complete, current or correct.

4. Writing by Claude, and checking what you use

Some features ask Claude, a writing service made by Anthropic, to describe a neighborhood’s needs, suggest ministry ideas, find prices, write a proposal’s words or review a church’s website. Its writing can be mistaken: a wrong number, name, price or fact, or an idea that does not fit your church. Terrain checks much of it (numbers against the Census figures, links, no quoted Scripture), but not everything.

Scripture and Ellen G. White quotations in Terrain’s own lists are checked against the published text (the King James Version, the Reina-Valera Antigua of 1909, and the Ellen G. White Estate’s writings). Confirm any quotation before you print or publish it.

You are responsible for reviewing what Terrain gives you before you present, print, publish or decide on it. Terrain is not legal, financial, tax, medical or counselling advice. Its references to the Church Manual and to policies are for information; your church’s and conference’s own policies govern.

5. Your content, and what Terrain makes for you

“Your Content” means what you type or save in Terrain (your church’s information, plans, proposals and notes) and what your members and neighbors send you through it. As between you and us, you keep ownership of Your Content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display and transmit it, and to send it to the providers named in the Privacy Policy, only as needed to run, secure and support Terrain for you.

Most of Your Content is kept on your own device. Keep your own copies of anything important: if your browser’s data is cleared, we cannot recover it.

To the extent we hold any rights in the slides, handouts, proposals, cards and reports Terrain makes for you (“Output”), we assign them to you, and you may use them freely in your ministry. Terrain itself, its design, its software and its Idea Library remain ours. You may use the ideas and their words in your own church’s ministry, but you may not copy or republish the library as a whole.

6. What your members and neighbors send you

When you share a Spiritual Gifts link, ask people to answer during a presentation, or use a connection card, you receive information about people. You agree to:

7. Digital footprint

Digital footprint shows what anyone can find online about the churches of a conference, to help each one improve. It is not a judgment or a ranking. “We could not find” means only that it was not found where Terrain looked. Use what it shows to help, never to shame a church or its pastor, and do not publish another church’s findings. A church may ask us to correct or remove what is shown about it (see the Privacy Policy).

8. Acceptable use

Neighbors are neighbors, never targets. You agree not to use Terrain to:

We may remove material and suspend or close access that breaks these rules (section 15).

9. Presentations and shared links

Anyone with a presentation’s code or link can see its slides while it is open. Do not put private information on slides you present live. A member’s own Spiritual Gifts report link is private: anyone who has it can open it, so do not pass on someone else’s.

10. Plans, trials and payment

Early access. Until paid plans begin, every registered pastor has the full version at no charge. We will tell registered pastors, in Terrain or by email, at least 30 days before paid plans begin.

The free version. The Community Survey stays free.

Prices. Plan prices are shown in Terrain and at checkout in US dollars (when these Terms were written: $150 a year or $15 a month) and may not include taxes. Where tax applies, it is added at checkout.

Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. Plans are billed in advance and renew automatically each month or each year until you cancel. By starting a plan you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method at each renewal. Before a yearly plan renews, you receive a reminder by email.

Free trial. Where offered, a trial lasts 14 days and needs a card. You are not charged if you cancel before the trial ends. If you do not cancel, the plan you chose starts and your card is charged when the trial ends. There is one free trial for each account.

Cancelling. Cancel any time under Account › Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan continues until the end of the period you have paid for.

Refunds. The Refund Policy says when a payment is refunded.

Failed payments. If a payment fails and is not put right, your plan ends and the free version remains.

Price changes. We may change prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects your plan; it takes effect at your next renewal after that. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

Codes. We may offer codes for discounts, trials or testing. They may have limits and may be changed or ended by us.

11. Conference and organization plans

A conference or other organization (“Organization”) may buy places for its pastors. For those plans: the Organization pays by invoice for the places agreed; it is responsible for whom it gives places to; it may be told who has taken a place under its plan (name, email and date), but it is not given any pastor’s church information, members’ results or neighbors’ answers; and each person who uses a place accepts these Terms. Where a signed agreement, quote or invoice between us and an Organization says otherwise, that agreement controls for the Organization.

12. Changes and availability

We keep improving Terrain, so features may change, be added or be removed. We will try to give notice before removing a main feature of a paid plan. Terrain depends on the internet and on other companies’ services, and it may sometimes be slow or unavailable. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.

13. Leaving

You can stop using Terrain at any time, and ask us to delete your information as the Privacy Policy describes. We delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as billing records. What is on your device you remove yourself, with “Clear all” in Terrain or by clearing your browser’s data.

14. Other companies’ services

Terrain relies on other companies and public services, including Netlify (hosting), Google (Firebase sign-in and the Places listing), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (Claude), the U.S. Census Bureau and OpenStreetMap. Their own terms apply to their services. We are not responsible for them, and links to other websites are given for your convenience only.

15. Suspension and closing access

We may suspend or close your access, or remove material, if you break these Terms, do not pay, misuse Terrain, or put Terrain, other people or us at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. Sections 5 to 7 and 14 to 22 continue after your access ends.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

TERRAIN AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT TERRAIN WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT WILL BE KEPT WITHOUT LOSS.

17. Limit of our liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (A) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, CONTENT, REPUTATION, GOODWILL, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO TERRAIN, ANY OUTPUT, OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO TERRAIN OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU (OR, FOR AN ORGANIZATION PLAN, THE ORGANIZATION) PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50).

Some places do not allow some of these limits. Where that is so, they apply only as far as the law allows.

18. Your responsibility to us

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless us, and anyone working with us, from any claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, from the information you receive from members and neighbors and how you use it, from material you present, print, publish or share using Terrain, from your use of Terrain, or from your breaking these Terms or the law.

19. Settling disagreements

If you have a concern, please write to support@terrain.church first. We will try in good faith to settle it with you within 30 days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that is not settled informally will be decided only in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you and we consent to those courts. To the extent the law allows, any claim must be brought individually and not as part of a class or representative action, and must be brought within one year after it arose.

If you believe material in Terrain infringes your copyright, write to support@terrain.church with: your contact details; a description of the work; where the material is; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own or may act for the owner of the right; and your physical or electronic signature. We will remove infringing material and close the access of people who infringe repeatedly.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The version and date at the top will change. If a change is significant, we will tell you in Terrain or by email, and we may ask you to agree again before you continue. If you keep using Terrain after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
